Southwest Kenya

Maasai Mara

Kenya's most famous grassland, and its most reliable big-cat country. Busy during migration season, quietly excellent for much of the rest of the year.

July to October for the migration; December to March for quieter dry-season travel.

Season changes the feel of the same route.

Dry months can make wildlife viewing more straightforward. Green months can bring softer light, quieter lodges, and beautiful landscapes. Migration movement in the Mara, mountain views in Amboseli, and flamingo concentrations at Nakuru all depend on natural conditions, so we plan with honesty rather than promises.

Suggested combinations

Build contrast without rushing.

First-time guests often combine Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara. Travelers who want a quieter northern arc may choose Samburu, Laikipia, and the Mara. For a southern wilderness and beach finish, Amboseli, Tsavo, and Diani can make the journey feel broad and balanced.
